Survival and Bushcrafts reviewed some great products from the Polish company Rockland a few months back. Consequently we are very happy to provide details of a new product by them: the Rock Castle Hammock Tent.
This original design and construction is obviously aimed at outdoor enthusiasts who intend to sleep in the wilds.
Hammock or tent?
The setup bridges the gap between staying in a hammock under a tarp and staying in a tent. It serves as a light-weight shelter for hikers or other outdoors people. Moreover, rip-stop material is used for the flysheet to increase robustness. Meanwhile a water resistance of 3000 mm provides excellent protection against bad weather. Another feature is the net which protects against insects and rodents. Furthermore the waterproof floor and two entrances ensure comfort and ease of use.
The hammock ropes/straps inside the tent are fed out through side openings and are then secured with double-sided, height-adjustable zips. Two side entrances to the tent are closed using a 140 cm high zipper.
By attaching the guy ropes to trees, you can sleep in the tent in a wooded area. A hammock can then be hung inside.
The tent can also be used in open terrain using trekking poles. Adjust the height and angle of inclination of the top sheet as required. A waterproof floor provides a good base to sleep on.
